Welcome to Trailside Galleries' fall/winter edition newsletter! With the upcoming Holidays, we are pleased to show you a sampling of wonderful new works from some of Trailside's most collected and sought after artists; the dynamic contemporary western cowboy scenes of Bill Anton, the old world charm and light filled paintings of George Hallmark, Don Crowley's eloquent depictions of the Apache and Paiute societies, and the modern and historical cowboy paintings of Clark Kelley Price. Additionally, we are very pleased to use this opportunity to welcome artists Tom Darro, Kent Wallis and An He to the Trailside family of artists. The festive Holiday season also means that our Scottsdale and Jackson galleries will be hosting their annual miniature shows. Our Holiday events are always a crowd pleaser, as they provide our collectors with a broad range of subject matter and artistic styles. And in these economic times, smaller works seem to be particularly alluring! These treasures are certainly wonderful stocking stuffers whether you are giving the gift of art or treating yourself over the Holidays! Please visit our website where you can view all the newest artwork in both our Scottsdale and Jackson locations.
While 2009 has proven to be a challenging year, we have, nonetheless, witnessed that high quality works of art continue to be much sought after. Art is truly a passion which is why we, as collectors, continue to want to enrich our lives and surround ourselves with beautiful and thought provoking works of art. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our artists, friends and patrons for their continued support and friendship. On behalf of the entire Trailside family, best wishes for a very Happy Holiday Season filled with joy and peace!
We are pleased to bring you the latest issue of our gallery newsletter which offers an excellent sampling of new artwork now available in our galleries. As an avid art enthusiast and collector, I know that I always look forward to receiving art related mailers, whether from other galleries or museum shows. With that in mind, I hope and trust that you enjoy browsing through the following pages.
Our August newsletter features the annual Western Classics exhibition, which showcases some of the finest in western representational art. Collectors can look forward to viewing a large collection of new works with a rich diversity of subject matter and stylistic approaches. Working cowboys, historical and contemporary western scenes as well as sweeping landscapes of the west will figure prominently in our show.
We are also pleased to feature two artists in individual showcases; Nicholas Coleman and Paul Mann have each created a compelling body of work that will compliment our Western Classics event. Looking ahead towards the fall, please note that you can visit our website to see periodic updates on new and incoming art and get an early bird view of our September shows. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the 3rd annual Jackson Hole Art Auction will take place on Saturday, September 19th. This year
As we continue to ride out the economic rollercoaster of 2009, I am most pleased to hear many of our collectors make reference to the fact that they would rather invest in good quality art at this time, than put their trust and money in the volatile stock market. Now, that is music to my ears! While I make it a point not to sell art purely as an investment, I continue to encourage art enthusiasts to invest in quality works of art by recognized, established artists. Not only do you get great esthetic pleasure from purchasing art, but a real tangible value that should continue to appreciate through the years.
During good times and bad, the artistic mind never stops working and so it is, that our very talented roster of painters and sculptors have created exceptional new works for our annual
As I was preparing the introduction for our first gallery newsletter of 2009, I questioned whether I should bring up the topic of our current economic malaise. However, it occurred to me that there was really no way to circumnavigate the subject, since it seems no one is untouched by these difficult financial times. Trailside is not immune to the slow down, but there are two constants that keep the gallery in good health, even during the down times: the amazingly talented artists we represent and the consistent quality and service that this gallery provides its patrons. As we all ride out this
As we welcome the crisp, cool days of autumn, we are very pleased to host our annual Fall Gold show in our Jackson, Wyoming gallery. Once again, our show pays tribute to the beauty and mystery of nature as seen thru the eyes and interpreted on canvas by our masterful landscape and wildlife painters. Likewise, we see the wondrous world of animals in their natural environment thru the skilled and discerning eyes of our wildlife and sporting sculptors. I can
We are pleased to bring you our July gallery newsletter which I hope and trust you will enjoy reviewing. During July, we feature our annual Form and Function show, an exhibition dedicated to the genre of still life and figurative painting. We have invited many of our artists to participate in this event, thus giving the show an interesting fusion of stylistic approaches. As part of the event, we are pleased to feature individual artist showcases for Bruce Cheever, Dan and Danny McCaw, Jie Wei Zhou, Mike Malm, Robert Duncan and Jared Sanders.
Just a few short weeks ago, on June 26th, we hosted the grand opening of our new gallery space, held in conjunction with our season opening show. More than 25 of our gallery artists were present for the festivities along with some 500 guests. A live jazz band added to the lively atmosphere as champagne and delicious hors d'oeurves were passed around. Our lovely sculpture garden was quite a hit as guests spilled out into the garden to enjoy the warm evening air. We are all quite delighted with the new gallery and I hope that you will have the opportunity to visit our new home in Jackson in the near future! Looking ahead towards the rest of the summer, please note that you can visit our website to see periodic updates on new and incoming art and get an early bird view of our August and September shows. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that we will host the 2nd annual Jackson Hole Art Auction on Saturday, September 20th.
This year we kick off our annual summer show season in Jackson with a very special event as we celebrate the grand opening of our new gallery location at 130 East Broadway. After 31 years at our previous gallery space, we made the move this past March to a two story building just off the town square that we have lovingly transformed into a showcase venue for all of our paintings, sculpture and fine western furniture. The grand opening celebration will be held in conjunction with our season opening show, Salute to Summer, which features new works from our entire roster of artists. Whether you collect western art, impressionism, wildlife, or figurative works, this show has it all. Please join us on Thursday, June 26th from 5:00
Winter is slowly giving way to spring as we approach March madness! March is a busy time for our Jackson and Scottsdale locations, with both galleries showcasing a plethora of new works.
In Scottsdale, we are very pleased to highlight a new collection of stunning figural works by the acclaimed master, Pino Dangelico. These newest paintings are once again an undisputable and clear testament to Pino
The winter art season in Scottsdale is well under way as we bring you our first gallery newsletter of 2008. In this issue, we highlight shows and events at our Scottsdale gallery during the month of February. This time of year in Arizona is splendid indeed, so I hope you have an opportunity to visit the area and stop by the gallery.
We begin with Wildlife Discovery a showcase of recent paintings and sculpture featuring many of the top wildlife artists in the country. Utah artist Mike Malm and Chinese painter Jie Wei Zhou each introduce a new body of work showcasing the human figure. Perennial favorite Dan McCaw brings us a dynamic new collection of paintings that feature his traditional beach scenes, interiors, cafes and cityscapes.
Our Jackson gallery is busy as well in February as it hosts the month long exhibit New Horizons which pays tribute to the American landscape and features the exceptional talents of several renowned landscape artists.
In closing, we are very excited about the February 1st dedication of Herb Mignery
