Trailside Galleries is pleased to present a two-man show of new works by renowned California artists, Dan and Danny McCaw. This father and son duo may share a studio but each conveys their own stylistic interpretation of light, color and texture in oil paintings. Collectors will have the opportunity to meet the artists during a gallery reception on February 25th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in our Scottsdale, Arizona gallery.
Dan McCaw has been represented by Trailside Galleries for twenty-seven years and has had several successful one-man shows. His work is deeply rooted in the romantic impressionist tradition, but moving toward a more expressionist style. Known for his deep hues and rich color harmony, he is one of the most admired and collected American painters. Figurative, interiors, street scenes and cityscapes are his forte, with soulful interpretation of mood and scene. Trained at the San Francisco Academy of Art, he taught art for seventeen years at the Art Center College of Design. His book, “A Proven Strategy for Creating Great Art” was released to great critical acclaim in the spring of 2003.
Danny McCaw, youngest son of Dan McCaw, began drawing and painting at an early age and his youthful images soon developed into mature, sensitive statements. He studied at El Camino College, Scottsdale Artists School, and with one of the country’s leading figurative painters, Steve Huston. In 2002 the Scottsdale Artists School awarded him the Wright Foundation Scholarship. Southwest Art has profiled him as one of the most dynamic, emerging artists of his generation. Danny’s search for his own individuality is of the utmost importance. His art is full of honesty and creativity, with a desire to find his own voice. His subjects are figurative, cityscape and landscape and he paints with explosion of light and color.
