J.C. Dye, b. 1948, Great Falls, Montana (United States)

J.C. Dye is a Montana rancher turned sculptor. Inspired by his ranch and wildlife surroundings, he is completely self taught. The labors of ranch life prepared him for the rigors of monumental sculpture of which he creates one to two a year.  Dye was inspired early on to pursue an artistic career and is now one of the country’s leading western sculptors.  His small-scale bronzes and monumental installations have been greatly inspired by his life as a rancher, working cowboy and avid outdoorsman.  Dye recently completed a monumental sculpture, the largest in the state of Wyoming, for the city of Casper.
