Trailside Galleries is pleased to present "Stretching The Boundaries” a show of all new works by California based painter Dan McCaw.   It has been several years since Dan’s last one-man show at the gallery so the event should be welcome news to his nationwide following of collectors.

For McCaw, painting has always been a journey of sorts, a trip through the heart and mind to reach the ultimate destination: the core of his artistic journey.   Long considered one of America’s most highly respected contemporary impressionists, the last decade or so has found him drawn deeper into the world of abstraction, challenging himself to take expressionistic liberties while on the path to find his personal voice.    A skilled and discerning interpreter of color harmonies, shapes, light and mood, he expresses feeling and emotions with the fewest elements - that less is more.

McCaw notes, “Creativity needs persistence and the ability to learn from trial and error to identify things relevant to your intent and to eliminate the unnecessary. I draw from memory, imagination, experience and experimentation. Layers of Struggle - one layer upon the other. I search within each subject to find my own truth; that moment that you connect with something that moves you. The painting is only the visual part; it is the emotional connection that gives the painting its value.”

Collectors can look forward to viewing approximately twelve new studio paintings by the artist during the two-week event at the gallery.
