Jackson, Wyoming – September 18-19, 2015 – Trailside Galleries of Jackson, WY and Scottsdale, AZ, in partnership with Gerald Peters Gallery of Santa Fe, NM and New York, NY are pleased to present the ninth annual Jackson Hole Art Auction. The Session I sale will be held at 12:00 PM MST on Friday, September 18 at Trailside Galleries in downtown Jackson Hole. The Session II sale will be held at 12:00 PM MST on Saturday, September 19 at the award-winning Center for the Arts venue. Both sessions will be led by auctioneer Jason Brooks.
 

Session I artwork can be previewed at Trailside Galleries on Thursday, September 17 (10:00 AM-7:00 PM MST) and Friday, September 18 (9:00 AM-12:00 PM MST). Session II artwork can be previewed at the Center for the Arts on Friday, September 18 (10:00 AM-7:00 PM MST) and Saturday, September 19 (9:00 AM-12:00 PM MST).


The Session I sale will feature carefully curated artwork focusing on the emerging American Painting collector. Session I highlights include Kenneth Riley’s Cool and Clear ($20,000-$30,000) and G. Harvey’s Café Carriage ($18,000-$24,000). The Session I sale will also feature works by Clyde Aspevig, Dan Mieduch, Tucker Smith, Carl Rungius, Kyle Sims, and many more.
 

Session II highlights include Albert Bierstadt’s masterwork Wind River Country, Wyoming, ca. 1860, estimated at $1,000,000-$2,000,000. Richard Schmid’s Olympic House will be offered at $75,000-$100,000. Howard Terpning paintings that will be offered include Good Medicine at $100,000-$150,000 and Empty Handed at $75,000-$100,000. Featured wildlife lots include Bob Kuhn’s Cheetahs on a Termite Hill ($200,000-$400,000), Carl Rungius’ Grizzly Bear ($250,000-$450,000), and Robert Bateman’s Great Cormorants ($50,000-$75,000).


Eight Top Tier artists have completed submissions, to be juried pre-auction by a panel of esteemed private collection curators. Top Tier paintings include Z.S. Liang’s The Holy Rattle, Elkwater Lake Battle, 1864, ($80,000-$120,000), Jenness Cortez’s Four American Visionaries ($80,000-$120,000), and Ken Carlson’s Great Plains Pronghorn ($45,000-$55,000).
