Jackson, WY…. Trailside Galleries is pleased to present “OUT OF AFRICA” a month long show of new works inspired by the flora, landscapes and wildlife of the dark continent.  Participating artists will include Julie Askew, Ken Carlson, Francois Koch, Bruce Lawes, Jan Martin McGuire, Lindsay Scott, John and Suzie Seerey-Lester, Adam Smith, Renso Tamse, Ezra Tucker, photographer David Yarrow and special guest artists John Banovich, Guy Combes, Brian Jarvi and Pip McGarry.   

Straddling the equator, Africa is bestowed with a rich diversity of wildlife and landscapes.  The world’s second largest continent, large predators roam the sweeping savannas and open plains among huge herds of grazing herbivores, while apes, monkeys and snakes inhabit its dark, dense forests. Widely regarded as the place where human life originated, Africa is home to many of the world's best loved and most fascinating animals, and sadly, to some of its most endangered.

The artists featured in this event share two passions; the visual arts and the conservation of endangered species and our natural world.  From Guy Combes’ powerful painting, “The Rain Maker” depicting a majestic bull elephant, to Ken Carlson’s elegant Masai Giraffes, the participating artists in this show capture the essence of Africa’s awe inspiring vastness and beauty.

Since 1963, Trailside Galleries of Jackson, Wyoming and Scottsdale, Arizona has been regarded as one of the pre-eminent dealers in American representational art, specializing in a rich and varied collection of works by the leading western, wildlife, figurative, impressionist, and landscape artists in the country.
