Trailside Galleries is pleased to present Spanish Romanticism: The Fine Art of JoAnn Peralta. This showcase of new works by the California based figurative painter will be on display at the gallery from November 2 through November 30. An Open House is scheduled for Saturday, November 7 from 1:00-4:00 pm.
JoAnn Peralta has captivated collectors with her keen sense of mood and lush brush-work. Each painting invokes a timeless romantic flair towards life and sets a tone of in-trigue through her use of lighting and color. The beauty of light with a contemporary, modernist touch is what Peralta describes as her inspiration. As well, her passion for the West, historical and romanticized, dominates her vision and scope and it is clearly influenced by her Hispanic and Italian ancestry. She notes,“I produce many works which demonstrate sometimes subtle, yet notable ways in which Latin’s have contribut-ed to the fabric of western society.”
Peralta's early training came via an opportunity to attend the illustrious Art Center Col-lege of Design in Pasadena, California on a full-time scholarship. Shortly after leaving the Art Center, she began a successful career as an illustrator and naturally drifted into fine art.
Since 2010, Peralta has been an annual exhibitor at the prestigious Masters of the American West Exhibition and Sale held at the Autry National Center in Los Angeles. Recently, she was given the honor of displaying her painting, "Heart of the West,” in the Longworth Building of the U.S. Capitol, in Washington, D.C.
JoAnn Peralta’s work has appeared in various publications including, Art Business News Magazine, International Artist, Southwest Art, Western Art & Architecture, Cowboys and Indians, Art of the West and Western Art Collector.
