Trailside Galleries is pleased to present “The Warrior’s Wisdom” a show of new studio works by Utah based artist Greg Overton.  

Greg Overton's paintings have been praised for their ability to tell a story, evoke primal feelings and remind us of the importance of connection and balance.  Although Overton has painted a variety of western subjects, his portraits of Native Americans stand out as some of his most powerful and moving works. Through his use of color, composition and texture, he brings these figures to life in a way that feels both timeless and deeply human.

“For this show,  I was inspired to create a group of paintings that would describe the warrior’s journey through a life of conflict and war to a deeper understanding of life and death. From the young warrior eager to prove himself in battle to the grizzled veteran who offers the sacred pipe.  This group of paintings is a human story that we all go through individually and collectively that eventually leads us to a deeper understanding of life and to the wisdom that leads us to peace.” - Greg Overton
